Our therapists come to Roubicek and Thacker, Inc. because of a deep and abiding love for the work of psychotherapy. They bring with them a rich and diverse background of professional and personal experience which enhances their work.


 Michael C. Roubicek, PhD,LCSW

"Dr. Mike" has been a psychotherapist since 1983. His areas of expertise include working with anxiety and depression, related concerns that arise from trauma or abuse, facing and overcoming addictions, addressing weight relationship issues and the challenges of gastric bypass surgeries. Mike is Co-Director of LifeSTAR of the Central Valley www.lifestarcentralvalley.com, an addiction recovery program for the treament of pornography addiction and other compulsive sexual behaviors. Mike and Stacey offer retreat weekends for those interested in the healing aspects of group work.


Stacey B. Thacker, MA, LMFT

In addition to depression and anxiety issues, Stacey specializes in traumatic grief and loss, PTSD, addiction and survivors of childhood molestation. She has a vast background in working with families who have children with disabilities. Her expertise also includes the unique perspectives of individuals of LDS and Russian Molokan faiths. She teaches in the marriage and family therapy graduate program at the University of Phoenix. Stacey is also a certified Sibshop facilitator through the Sibling Support Project www.siblingsupport.org Stacey is Co-Director of LifeSTAR of the Central Valley www.lifestarcentralvalley.com, an addiction recovery program for the treatment of pornography addiction and other compulsive sexual behaviors. Channing Hitchcock, MA, LMFT

Channing is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, specializing in treating couples and individuals for depression, anxiety and addictive behaviors. Practicing since 2000, he understands the stress and emotional pain experienced by unfulfilled emotional needs, often the result of undeveloped communication and/or intimacy skills. Channing also brings to his work a strong professional background and understanding of issues related to substance abuse, post-traumatic stress and the many challenges facing the family today. Channing is trained in the LifeSTAR sexual addiction recovery model.


Timothy Koford, MS, LMFT

Tim graduated from California State University at Fresno with a masters in counseling psychology with an emphasis on marriage and family therapy. As a licensed therapist, Tim is experienced in working with  children and teenagers as well as adults. He also enjoys helping couples and families strengthen their communication skills. Tim is trained in the LifeSTAR sexual addiction recovery model helping individuals, couples and teenagers heal from the effects of pornography addiction and other compulsive sexual behaviors. Additionally, Tim has developed a specialty in working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Debby Schmidt, MS, IMF

Debby enjoys working with children as well as adults. Debby's experience at Spirit of Woman, a recovery program for women in addiction and their children, has given her a strong perspective in working with individuals in addiction recovery, and their children. She has also developed a specialty in working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Debbie is a certified Sibshop facilitator for brothers and sisters of kids with disabilities. She is also a LifeSTAR therapist, helping young people (YouthSTAR), couples and individuals heal from pornography addiction, and other compulsive sexual behaviors.

 Julie Hitchcock, MA, IMF

Julie is a National University graduate who comes to us having completed her training at Spirit of Woman, a recovery program for women struggling with addiction. Julie's skills, talents and natural abilities are evident in her passion for helping individuals facing life challenges such as divorce, abuse, eating disorders, post traumatic stress and addiction recovery. Julie works with individuals, adolescents, children and couples. Like many of our therapists, Julie is also developing her skills in working with individuals with disabling conditions. She is a LifeSTAR therapist, providing individual and couples healing opportunities from the effects of sexual addictions.


Susan S. Hill, MS, IMF

Susan completed her master's degree in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy at the University of Phoenix. She trained at the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center here in Fresno, gaining experience in the treatment of addictions, PTSD, depression and anxiety. Susan is a national speaker on issues related to women and emotional dependency. She is also fluent in American Sign Language and specializes in issues facing the Deaf community. Susan is trained in the LifeSTAR model of addiction recovery for pornography and other sexually compulsive behaviors. She and her husband David speak on a variety of topics including Spiritual Warfare for Teens, an inspiring presentation for Church Youth groups. She is also a certified Sibshop Facilitator, trained to provide support workshops for the brothers and sisters of children with special needs. Susan has a great love for the compassionate art of psychotherapy and enjoys working with individuals, couples and groups.

David T. Hill, MS, IMF

With experience working with individuals and couples navigating their recovery from addiction, David brings a strong passion for the healing work of psychotherapy. David is a graduate of the University of Phoenix Marriage and Family Therapy program. He has advanced training in the LifeSTAR model for pornography addiction and other compulsive sexual behaviors. David and his wife Susan speak on a variety of topics including Spiritual Warfare for Teens, an inspiring presentation for Church Youth groups on the issues of addiction. David is available to work with children, teenagers, adults, couples and groups.

Suzanne Marshall- Office Manager

Suzanne has been with Roubicek and Thacker since 2003. She brings to our office a high degree of professionalism and she's that friendly "real" voice clients hear when they call in for an appointment.

Karen Papin- Assistant Office Manager

Joining us in 2010, Karen has a BA in psychology from BYU Idaho. Her organizational skills provide a good assist to our office manager's many duties and helps to keep our office running smooth.
